Installation Guide
Learn how to install addons, maps, shaders, and texture packs for Minecraft Pocket Edition on Android, iOS, and Windows devices.
Before You Start
β Minecraft Version: Ensure you have Minecraft Pocket Edition (Bedrock Edition) installed
β Device Storage: Make sure you have enough free space on your device
β Backup: Always backup your worlds before installing new content
β File Manager: Android users may need a file manager app
π§ Installing Addons (.mcaddon files)
π± Android & iOS
- Download the .mcaddon file fromΒ CraftedMods
- Tap on the downloaded file
- Minecraft will automatically open
- The addon will be imported automatically
- Create a new world or edit existing world settings
- Enable the addon in Behavior Packs and/or Resource Packs
- Start playing!
π» Windows 10/11
- Download the .mcaddon file
- Double-click the file to open with Minecraft
- Minecraft will launch and import the addon
- Go to Settings β Global Resources or Behavior Packs
- Find your addon and activate it
- Apply to your world in world settings
πΊοΈ Installing Maps (.mcworld files)
All Platforms
- Download the .mcworld file fromΒ CraftedMods
- Tap/click on the downloaded file
- Minecraft will automatically open and import the world
- The world will appear in your worlds list
- Click "Play" to start the world
Note: Map worlds are standalone and don't require additional setup!
π¨ Installing Texture Packs (.mcpack files)
Quick Installation
- Download the .mcpack texture pack file
- Tap/click the file to open with Minecraft
- Minecraft will import the resource pack
- Go to Settings β Global Resources
- Find your texture pack and activate it
- The changes will apply to all your worlds
Manual Installation (Advanced)
If automatic installation doesn't work, you can manually place files in the resource_packs folder in your Minecraft directory.
β¨ Installing Shaders
Shader Installation
- Download the shader (.mcpack) file
- Install it the same way as texture packs
- Go to Settings β Global Resources
- Activate the shader pack
- Restart Minecraft for best results
Performance Note: Shaders may impact game performance on older devices.
π§ Troubleshooting
Files won't import?
- β’ Make sure you have the latest version of Minecraft
- β’ Check if the file downloaded completely
- β’ Try restarting Minecraft
- β’ Ensure you have enough storage space
Content doesn't appear in game?
- β’ Check if you activated the content in world settings
- β’ Verify the content is compatible with your Minecraft version
- β’ Try creating a new world to test
